Our Covid support

Almost all of our normal activities are on hold because of Coronavirus restrictions, but in Autumn 2020 we have, in liaison with Milford Youth Matters and with Friends of the Mount, been distributing food, activity and hygiene packs to local people on a call-in or delivery basis. We have also  helped to prepare full, safe re-opening guides for the Mount Community Centre.

Adapting our support

Over christmas 2020 we have focused our Community support mainly on disadvantaged young people and on old people, with fantastic help from funding sources additional to our own Trust Fund.

We gave all of the children who would normally attend our Summer KidsOut event, and our normal Young Carers cohort an end of term Xmas present book token for the local Victoria Bookshop to a value of £25 each  in total 113 kids! We supported the Milford Community School Xmas virtual panto too.

We also gave the “ Xmas Together “ cohort of old people who we normally transport to a dinner at the Pill Centre, combined with referrals from Friends of the Mount and Hubberston Community Centres a food voucher to a value of £20 each - totalling about 84 individuals.

We supported a District Rotary initiative to provide Xmas boxes for local children in refuges too.

Finally we gave 26 Amazon Fire 8 tablets to local Young Carers through the  County Carers supervisor in lieu of their normal Ten pin bowling supper event.

We are most grateful to our members, to the Community Foundation Wales and the Milford Haven Working Together teams for their funding support for these activities.
